When I entered film school back in 1987, maybe one person in a thousand entertained the idea of filmmaking as a career. Today, with cheap camcorders, iMovie packaged with every Mac and an explosion of "media awareness," everyone wants to make movies. But watching "Pulp Fiction" thirty times is no substitute for education and experience.
