So are you all commercial, or have you done any "real" art, writing or film?
I believe art, even in the service of commerce, can enrich and expand our lives. I try to bring humor to the stodgy, dignity to the underdog and clarity to the muddled. The techniques for good writing, design and film are the same no matter the purpose.

So you haven't, then.
Sigh. I made a short film that won an AMPAS award and a feature-length comedy that played the festival circuit. I also played a crucial role in making Thirteen, which won an Independent Spirit Award and the Berlin Film Festival's Don Quixote Prize for director David Williams. My short film "Election Day" wrapped in August 2008.

Let's go back to the L.A. celebrities...
Look. I produced and edited a PBS documentary on the stock market while in L.A. That should be enough excitement for anyone.

What about teaching? Don't artists do that to live?
I taught at an art studio in Lexington and am holding screenwriting classes in Roanoke. Contact me if you want to join the class.

What's with the bald director on the Screen page? Were you ever bald?
No, but Erich von Stroheim, Otto Preminger and Alfred Hitchcock were notably bald.

Is it true there's a riddle hidden on the home page?
I love riddles. The answer refers to my trade.
